Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga has
effected changes to his cabinet,
becoming the second county chief to
reshuffle executive officers after his
Embu counterpart, Martin Wambora.
The governor said the changes,
affecting executive and chief officers,
were made for "effective service
delivery".
Making the announcement, Mr
Akaranga said the changes were
informed by demands from the
public that has complained of laxity
among some officers.
He noted that instead of sacking the
officers, he had opted to shift them
around and gauge their performance
over the next few months.
“The officers signed performance
contracts some months ago and they
have not been living up to the
expectations of the people hence
the need to move them to different
departments. Over the past year, we
have not achieved much as required
by the people, although we have
done well,” said Akaranga.
Veteran agriculturalist, Sande
Mukuna, has been moved from the
Department of Agriculture, Livestock,
Fisheries and Co-operatives to the
Department of Gender, Youths,
Sports and Culture.
Mr Mukuna takes over from
educationist Nixon Amendi, who will
now head the Department of
Environment, Forestry, Water and
Natural Resources that was held by
Halima Abdi, who was moved to the
Department of Agriculture.
Silas Kipkemboi, who was in the
Transport and Infrastructure
department, has swapped places
with Zilpah Kageha of Health.
Different roles
Clara Indire of Lands and Urban
Planning, which will now be headed
by Deputy Governor Caleb
Amaswache, has become the
executive officer for Trade and
Industrialisation.
Johnstone Khejeri, the executive
officer for Public Service and
Administration has retained his
docket while the governor’s political
advisor, Fridah Chahale, is now the
new county executive officer for
Education, Science and Technology.
Five chief officers were also
reshuffled, with Rose Sudi (Public
Service and Administration), Moses
Andangalu (Agriculture), Andrew
Ondego (Health), Ben Kutwa (Gender)
and Lucy Ijai (Lands) retaining their
positions.

Bernard kiala tells senators, Alfred mutula behind his woes
Embattled Machakos Deputy
Governor Bernard Kiala Monday
defended himself before a Senate
committee, saying he was being
crucified for exposing wrongs
committed by the county
government.
Mr Kiala presented himself as an
innocent whistleblower made to
pay for lifting the lid on ills going
on in the government.
Mr Kiala accused Machakos
Governor Alfred Mutua, saying he
was behind his troubles.
He used the 40 minutes given him
to make an opening statement to
reveal what he termed “issues
behind my problems”, although he
focused mostly on the wrongs
allegedly committed by the
governor.
“I wish to respectfully submit to
this committee that I am a victim
of witch-hunt and a sacrificial
lamb at the altar of merchants of
impunity and a county executive
led by the governor keen to haunt
me out of office for whistleblowing
against acts of corruption and bad
governance,” said Mr Kiala.
However, the county assembly
lawyer Kioko Kilukumi defended
the governor and accused Mr Kiala
of derailing the county
government’s activities and
undermining Dr Mutua.
“The deputy governor has been
unable to perform his functions, he
has contravened the Constitution
and abused his office. The people
he has worked closely with,
interacted with have passed a
resolution that he be removed
from office,” said Mr Kilukumi.
At one time, Mr Kiala’s lawyer
Harun Ndubi questioned whether
the committee should entertain
new evidence to support the
allegations against his client and if
doing so amounted to unfair trial
for his client.
The committee retreated for
consultation before its chairman
Mutahi Kagwe who is also the
Nyeri Senator, ruled that the
evidence was admissible so long as
it did not make fresh allegations
that were not discussed when the
MCAs impeached the deputy
governor.
The hearing continues.

Radio Africa Offers to Buy Ghafla for Ksh 5 Million after Buying into TRINC for Ksh 3 Million
Radio Africa is reported to be in
serious talks to buy Ghafla. Already,
the Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo has
offered Ksh 5 million for 90% stake
in Ghafla. This offer was like an
insult to the Ghafla founder and his
88mph investors according to people
close to Ghafla.
Ghafla founders and investors
demanded nothing less than Ksh
100 million. This came immediately
after RAL bought 60% stake in
digital media agency TRINC Media
for a paltry Ksh 3 million.
According to documents in our
possession including quartely
reports, PQ bought 20% for himself
and had RAL pump in money to buy
40% of TRINC Media. Sebastian
Wafula maintains the other 40%,
some in trust for an unnamed
investor.
Radio Africa is very desperate to
make an entry dominate the web
and digital TV as they plan to still
be the group which is youth friendly.
They have ditched plans to start
their own Ghafla clone
www.shambamba.com but this plan
might not be off the table as the
group is also contemplating
poaching all Ghafla bloggers and
leaving Samuel Majani to start from
scratch. Many bloggers at Ghafla are
already getting more favours and
leads from Radio Africa that they are
really suspicious that the PQ
employees are up to something.
Caroline Mutoko has tried to show
Ghafla owners and writers favours
through show invitation and lunch
meetings. Others like Shaffie and
Maina Kageni are also giving Ghafla
all kinds of favours.

Ruto warns Raila: Dont dare any mass action
Deputy President William Ruto
Friday warned Cord leaders that
mass action threats would create
tension and derail efforts to unite
the country following last year’s
General Election.
He said calls for a rally on July 7
to pressure the Government to
hold a national dialogue on
problems facing the country, were
divisive and would reverse gains
made in reconciling Kenyans.
July 7 is associated with the pro-
democracy movement in Kenya.
Mr Ruto spoke as former Vice-
President Kalonzo Musyoka
declared that Cord was not
interested in government jobs and
was only campaigning for a
resolution of the problems facing
Kenyans.
SLIPPERY ROAD
The Deputy President said: “That
route of dividing wananchi on the
basis of tribe and religion so we
can talk of a tsunami,
demonstrations and mass action is
what took us to the bad, slippery
road that made us almost destroy
this country.” He was at a fund-
raiser at Riokindo secondary
school in Kisii county.
“Do you want us to abandon roads,
electricity and security projects so
that we can conduct public rallies
to discuss tsunamis and mass
actions? That we won’t do,” he
added.
But speaking in neighbouring
Nyamira County during a fund-
raiser, Mr Musyoka warned of
unspecified consequences if the
Jubilee leadership did not agree to
hold structured talks with Cord.
He said Cord leaders were not
interested in forming a coalition
with Jubilee and told the
Government not to panic since all
Cord leaders wanted was a joint
meeting to address insecurity,
corruption and inclusion in
government appointments.
The former VP said he and Cord
leader Raila Odinga “will not stoop
so low” as to accept any position in
Jubilee government, adding:
“Which position will Jubilee give
us in their Government? Will I be
the deputy to Mr Ruto while Raila
will be assistant to Uhuru?”
“We are not desperate to join the
Jubilee government as those
opposed to us think. Why are
Jubilee leaders panicking after we
have demanded that we meet
them to discuss pertinent issues
affecting good governance of this
country?”
Mr Kalonzo spoke at Kiabonyoru
girls secondary school and said
Cord would not relent on its
campaign to pressurise Jubilee
Government to be sensitive to
problems facing Kenyans.
He criticized the Jubilee
government for paying the
architects of the Anglo Leasing
scandal, saying Cord leadership
would ensure those behind the
theft were arrested and the money
returned.
Mr Ruto told the opposition
leaders to wait for 2017 and cease
dividing the country. “It wasn’t
the last election. So, let the leaders
wait for 2017 for another chance.
This midway attempt is but an
attempt to divide Kenyans,” he
said.
On Thursday former Prime
Minister Raila Odinga said the
country should brace for Saba Saba
if the President will not have
called national dialogue.
“My brother Uhuru agreed to a
national dialogue during Madaraka
Day celebrations only to turn
around after meeting Jubilee
officials and invited me and
Kalonzo Musyoka for a cup of tea
at State House,” Mr Odinga said.
“It is an insult to say that if Raila
and Kalonzo want to talk they
should come to State House for a
cup of tea. Do we look like people
who can be enticed with a cup of
tea?
The era when leaders would be
invited to State House for some
goodies are long gone.”
Mr Odinga said it was wrong for
the President to be prevailed upon
by Jubilee leaders to reject such an
important forum.
Meanwhile, Jubilee and Cord
leaders are camping in Nyanza this
weekend.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will be
in Rongo for the burial of the
daughter of area MP Dalmas
Otieno while Mr Odinga will be in
Siaya County for the funeral of
Siaya county executive for health
Dr Silvester Adala who died on
May 20 in Kisumu.

Vera Sidika – I Bleached My Skin in London
Last week, radio queen Caroline
Mutoko offered a piece of advice to
endowed video vixen, Vera Sidika,
on processing all her important
documents. This was not received
as a ridicule as she says she
thought of it before she bleached
her skin. “What a coincedence!
Actually before she (Carol)
mentioned it, I had a discussion
with my lawyer two weeks ago,”
Vera told the Nairobian.
The lass revealed that the process
cost her a fortune as she had to
seek a London dermatologist who
has also worked on other famous
celebrities. She however declined
to reveal the individual claiming
she would be giving him free
marketing.
When asked how much the whole
prosses cost her, this is what she
had to say, “a fortune! But I’m
happy and that’s all that matters.
My body my business. The more
hot I look, the more money I get.
I’ve been booked for the Happy
Powerball XS millionares club in
June. I have also been booked for
two other videos and a fashion
show in Kisumu.”
Well, there you have it..you now
know how you can eat from your
body for your body.
