KENYAN WOMAN SURVIVES DEATH.

A pregnant woman has been
admitted to Meru Level Five
Hospital after her husband
allegedly beat and injured her
in the private parts during the
Easter holiday.
The 31-year-old woman was
reportedly beaten up by her
husband, a constable attached
to Gatimbi AP Police Post in
Central Imenti Sub-County.
Narrating her ordeal at the
hospital, the woman said her
drunk husband arrived home
at 3am on Saturday and
ordered her to strip naked.
She claimed that she complied
before the officer changed into
his full uniform, drew out a
rod and two bullets before
hitting her while shouting that
he was to kill someone that
day.
The man then asked her to go
back to the house where he
turned on the TV so that her
screams did not attract
neighbours.
“It is then that he took a
bottle that he had carried with
him and the rod, and inserted
them into my private parts.
He then blindfolded me and
gagged my mouth to keep me
silent,” she said.
She said she passed out after
the ordeal.
“At around 5.30am I woke up
and found him asleep on the
bed, perhaps he also passed
out after drinking too much. I
then crawled to the camp
headquarters where other
officers rushed me to
hospital,” she said.
She was admitted to the
Gatimbi Health Centre but
later transferred to Meru
Level Five Hospital for
specialised treatment.
Meru County AP Commander
Njue Njagi, who visited her at
the hospital, said they were
investigating the matter.
The police boss urged officers
to seek counselling to prevent
similar occurrences.
